Ingredients:
- 1 beef brisket (about 5-7 pounds)
- 1/2 cup dry rub (such as brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder)
- 1 cup beef broth or water
- BBQ sauce of your choice (optional)
Instructions:
- Trim any excess fat from the brisket and season both sides with the dry rub.
- Smoke the brisket on a smoker or grill set to 225°F for 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature of the brisket reaches 195°F.
- Wrap the brisket in foil with the beef broth or water and continue smoking for another 2-3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 205°F.
- Let the brisket rest for 30 minutes, then slice against the grain into thin pieces.
- Serve with your favorite BBQ sauce, if desired.
Note: You can also bake the brisket in the oven at 325°F for 4-5 hours, wrapped in foil with the beef broth or water, then finish it on the grill for 5-10 minutes for a crisp char and added smoke flavor. Enjoy!
