Here's a classic Chicago-style hot dog recipe:

Ingredients:

- 1 all-beef hot dog (preferably Vienna Beef)

- 1 poppy seed bun

- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

- 1 tablespoon bright green sweet pickle relish

- 1 tablespoon chopped white onion

- 1 tomato slice

- 1 sport pepper (optional, but classic)

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Celery salt (optional, for authenticity)

Assembly:

1. Grill or cook the hot dog according to your preference.

2. Place the hot dog in the poppy seed bun.

3. Add a dollop of yellow mustard.

4. Add a spoonful of bright green sweet pickle relish.

5. Sprinkle chopped white onion on top.

6. Add a slice of tomato.

7. Place a sport pepper on top (if using).

8. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and celery salt (if desired).

Authenticity Notes:

- Use Vienna Beef hot dogs for the authentic Chicago taste.

- Never put ketchup on a Chicago-style hot dog!

- Sport peppers are a key component, but you can omit if you don't like spicy.

- Celery salt adds depth, but feel free to skip if you don't have it.

Enjoy your delicious Chicago-style hot dog!
